Dr. Dyer Harris is a Senior Consulting Engineer with The Warren Group, Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware.
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering with electives in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, all from Vanderbilt University with emphasis on thermal sciences (thermodynamics, heat transfer and compressible fluid flow).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Delaware, South Carolina).
- Research engineer for DuPont at the Savannah River Site (SRS), specializing in heat transfer at high thermal flux and reactor safety analyses. Designed and operated the SRS Heat Transfer Laboratory, observing and analyzing reactor cooling systems under simulated accident conditions.
- Manager of DuPont SRS production plants, with primary responsibility for safe processing of hazardous material.
- Director of Engineering for Dupont’s Medical Imaging Systems Department, responsible for design, development, and FDA approval of medical devices.
- President and Consulting Engineer of Equipment Engineering Services. Work includes industrial thermal systems analysis, heat exchangers, process equipment, two-phase flow, compressible fluid dynamics, machine design and stress analysis.
- Member of ASHRAE. Expertise in commercial HVAC systems design and analysis.
- Member of ASME. Vice President – Affinity Communities, 2004-2007. Currently teaching the course “Two-Phase Flow and Heat Transfer” for the ASME Continuing Education Institute. Instructor, Mechanical Engineering, Villanova University, “Heat Transfer”, 2009.
