Late model automobiles, pickup trucks and SUVs are equipped with airbags with dedicated computer modules that continually monitor parameters such as speed and deceleration rates. These computer modules evaluate those parameters and when certain conditions predict a crash above a unique programmed severity, the module commands deployment of the airbags. Some of those airbag computer modules store data that is useful to a collision reconstructionist. Crash Data Retrieval (CDR) systems, such as the Vetronix CDR can retrieve that data from many General Motors, Isuzu and Ford Motor Company cars. Our engineers and reconstructionists are equipped to retrieve CDR data and trained to use the CDR data as part of a collision reconstruction.
